Activated charcoal during haze season

Activated carbon and particle filters do different jobs. In a properly designed air cleaner, activated carbon can help adsorb certain gases and odours, while a HEPA filter captures fine particles, including PM2.5.

These loose granules are not a standalone haze air purifier or a replacement for a suitable PM2.5 air cleaner. Water-treatment grade does not establish airborne haze-removal performance. For air-filtration use, compatibility, airflow, carbon quantity and dust containment matter; follow the equipment manufacturer's guidance.

One material · many uses

Around the home
Place in a suitable breathable pouch for wardrobes, shoe cabinets, cupboards and other small enclosed spaces.

Shoes & gym bags
Use a securely closed breathable pouch with shoes, sports equipment and gym bags.

Near the cat litter area
Place a securely closed pouch nearby, out of reach of pets. Avoid scattering loose granules where pets may inhale or ingest them.

Camping & outdoor gear
Use a pouch inside backpacks, storage boxes or stored gear to help with unwanted odours.

Handling & care

Sold as loose activated carbon granules. Charcoal dust may transfer: avoid direct contact with fabrics and light-coloured surfaces, and avoid inhaling dust. Keep the granules contained and away from children and pets.

For water-treatment applications, correct filtration-system design, preparation and dosage are required. Do not simply add loose charcoal directly to drinking water.
